From 1999 Bryony studied physical performance and began experimenting with various ways to listen to the body. She worked in Europe with master performers including Augusto Boal and Peader Kirk and was intrigued with how imaginative triggers might evoke an alternative reality. She produced experimental experiences and journeys that often involved complete darkness or offering "time out" to aid the imagination and changing of consciousness. Many of these experiences provided physical space for people to meditate or focus the mind within everyday working and living situations.
Bryony's personal yoga practice has always been centred around the seasons and phases of the moon and she is now bringing these elements of shifting consciousness and nature awareness into her teaching.
Bryony studied teaching in Brighton with Marc Woolford from 2007 and was also influenced by the teachings of John Stirk at this time. Both teachers are not only inspired by Vanda Scaravelli but also Osteopathy for spinal care. She works with the changing seasons and focuses on work around the Equinox in Spring and Autumn
Retreating and practicing yoga during natures most powerful times in the year can give us a better chance to focus, celebrate and change just as our ancestors before us used specific times of the year to take stock of their lives. These space for reflection and to allow solutions to come forward.
I have been practicing yoga since I was 13 and have learnt and taught different styles around the world. I blend together traditions to create workshops that are hopefully inspiring, powerful and celebratory. I live rurally in the countryside near to the coast in Dorset and have long been studying the effects of space and place on people. I believe in the holistic approach to health and for yoga to shift consciousness by bringing together the mind and body as well as wisdom from nature. “Yoga can teach us how to reunite the body, mind and heart so we may fulfil our most brilliant potential. Practicing slowly we can change unwanted physical, and mental habits and patterns
